Malvern, USA FAQs
How large is the Malvern lab?
Malvern is a 3,500 square metre facility staffed by more than 170 scientists, and it's Resolian's original site, founded in 2008 as Alliance Pharma.
What therapeutic modalities does Malvern support?
Malvern's team covers LC-MS/MS and ligand binding assay (LBA) work, with specific expertise in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and oligonucleotides, alongside standard small and large molecule bioanalysis.
Why is the Malvern location significant for sponsors?
Malvern sits close to the Philadelphia pharmaceutical and biotech R&D hub, putting the lab near a dense cluster of sponsor companies on the US east coast.
Where exactly is the Malvern lab?
The lab is at 17 Lee Boulevard, Malvern, PA 19355, in the United States.
Does Malvern only run US-based studies?
No. As Resolian's founding site, Malvern shares harmonised methods and quality systems with the company's UK, China and Australia labs, so studies run there can extend into multi-region trials without switching CRO partners.
Zhiyang Zhao, Ph.D., serves as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at Resolian. Dr. Zhao has over 30 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with special focus on drug metabolism and bioanalysis of small and large molecules in drug discovery and development. Dr. Zhao has previously held positions at Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, and Amgen. Before joining Resolian in 2015, Dr. Zhao served as Site Director of Preclinical Research at Amgen in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for over a decade.
Currently, Dr. Zhao serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Eshelman School of Pharmacy of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and as Editor-in-Chief of Drug Metabolism & Bioanalysis Letters, a journal by Bentham Science, which publishes in all areas of drug metabolism and bioanalysis. Dr. Zhao received his Ph.D. degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Virginia Polytechnic and State University (popularly known as Virginia Tech) in Blacksburg, Virginia.
